Seniors and our Children, the Perfect Fit
"Life is no brief candle for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." -- George Bernard Shaw

Thank you to Alexanders Public School, Dr. Charles Best Public School, A.M. Cunningham School, J.M. Denyes Public School, Orchard Public School, Rolling Meadows Public School and Charles R. Beaudoin Public School for bringing smiles to our seniors with their homemade Christmas cards.
I am astonished each year as our children and teachers participate in this program. Not with the pictures the children draw on the cards but the words they use to fill them. Their compassion and joy in making the cards comes through and shows all of us, that our children have a strong and loving voice for our seniors. These schools are nurturing this voice and giving our children the wisdom and confidence to use it.
The Children of Christmas Past wants to hear the voice of our children in writing a story.
Please have your child, classroom or school participate in writing a story for the Children of Christmas Past. The website will be updated monthly throughout the year and these submissions will also be sent out to new chapters opening up in 2011.
Submissions can be sent to christmasforseniors@cogeco.ca, attention Jill Harrington. Jill and the committee members will post 3 submissions a month and send out to the seniors facilities in our program.
