To Whom it may concern,
I would have sent this sooner, but I misplaced the address, and only just now found it. I was pleasantly, VERY surprised upon getting a knock on my door on Christmas Day! I was SPEECHLESS, and that’s quite a thing for a person who’s NEVER short of words! I CAN’T BEGIN TO EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE! IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
"AWCO, American Women's Club of Oakville, members enjoyed participating in The Children of Christmas Past charity drive during the Christmas season, 2010. It was a joy to be able to warm the hearts of so many seniors who are alone during the holidays. Many thanks for the wonderful work you are doing in the community !"
Jill Hutsko, American Women's Club of Oakville, Service Co-Chair
The work of Children of Christmas Past is both significant and important. It brings so much joy to those who our society is far too quick to forget. I have been deeply impressed with the commitment, determination and selfless hard work of this charity's founder.

“Our journey through this life should end with respect and dignity. When we as a community do this, we learn to respect our elder’s journey and their importance. Then we will ourselves, improve our own journey and make our own quality of life better.”

“It has been my privilege to work alongside Jill Harrington for the last 8 years. She is an outstanding community leader, a great friend and an amazing mother. Her compassion for lonely and vulnerable seniors through her program Children of Christmas Past for seniors touches thousands of seniors annually and is a lasting tribute to her late father.
Mayor of Burlington, 2006 - 2010
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jill Harrington, founder of the Children of Christmas Past organization for making Christmas Day special for many seniors in our community. We all appreciate the many committed volunteers, businesses and donors who take the time to shop, wrap and deliver presents on Christmas morning. I was honoured to be a part of Jill’s fundraising event in November and look forward to working with this very dedicated organization in the future.”

“Two years ago Links2Care was lucky to find an angel on earth in Jill Harrington of “Children of Christmas Past”. Our senior clients, because of her, have enjoyed magical Christmas’s with all of their wishes and needs granted through the generosity of this charity. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and her name is Jill Harrington”.
It all started 5 years ago with a Christmas house party at our home for the Children of Christmas Past. Everyone would bring a wrapped gift for a senior man or woman or both to be donated to this wonderful organization who would distribute the gifts on Christmas day to seniors who were alone or had little to no family. The neighbours of Kane Crescent have continued to organize a Christmas Party every year where we bring gifts for seniors. It makes the seniors feel that they have not been forgotten. This organization is very close to my heart as my deceased mother was in a nursing home seven years ago and I would visit regularly. I witnessed first hand so many seniors who would not have any visitors at all, especially on Christmas day. My mom and I would buy extra gifts to give to them. I will never forget their smiles and think that circumstances can change and one day we too could be those seniors who have no one. What a horrible feeling it must be to feel like you are forgotten. The Neighbours of Kane Crescent are committed to continue being involved in this organization!
Thank you Jill and all your elves for all the hard work you do. Without you we would have many more seniors alone at this time of year.
